he FARO Freestyle3D is a top-quality high-precision handheld scanner. It quickly and reliably documents rooms, structures and objects in 3D and creates high-definition point clouds. With unbeatable precision it is suitable for all uses in which installations or properties must be quickly measured from various perspectives. The applications of the FARO Freestyle3D are varied and range from construction to industrial production and all the way to forensics. Thanks to its lightweight carbon fibre body, the hand scanner weighs less than a kilogramme and is therefore extremely handy and mobile. Complete Mapping and Registration Solution

The FARO Scan Localizer is a state-of-the-art scanning device that streamlines the registration process on-site increasing substantially productivity in complex planning projects.

 

The FARO Scan Localizer combines information of multiple sensors and software algorithms to determine the exact position inside buildings. It allows the as-built capturing for BIM (Building Information Modelling) related applications with unmatched speed, confidence and quality.

 

While moving a FARO Laser Scanner Focus3D through a large site, the FARO Scan Localizer will capture the exact position of the Laser Scanner thus enabling error free, fully automated registration.

 

FARO Scan Localizer performs automatic on-site registration of 3D scans directly in the software FARO SCENE and maps the scan space in real-time while the FARO Scan Localizer app registers the scans on the fly.

 

With this new workflow, users will be able to complete the whole scan and registration process on-site, substantially reducing the need for time consuming back office work and quality checks by a factor of two to five times.

FARO SCENE

FARO SCENE - FARO's 3D Documentation software is specifically designed for the FARO Laser Scanner Focus3D and FARO Scanner Freestyle3D. SCENE processes and manages scanned data easily and efficiently by using automatic object recognition as well as scan registration and positioning. SCENE can also generate high-quality colorized scans very quickly, while providing the tools for automated target-less scan positioning.

This point-cloud software for scanners is extremely user-friendly, from simple measuring to 3D visualization to meshing and exporting into various point cloud and CAD formats. Once SCENE has prepared the scan data, you can commence evaluation and further processing right away.

Scan projects can even be published on a web server at the touch of a button with SCENE WebShare Cloud. The SCENE WebShare Cloud is a secure cloud-based solution for storing and sharing scanning data with different project partners.

SCENE features a new intuitive user interface that offers guidance and support for complex tasks. In addition, with improved and automated workflows, now the project transfer (e.g. from SD-Card), scan processing and initial registration can be realized in one single step.

The new state-of-the-art solid surfaces rendering engine is capable of displaying enormous amounts of scan points with unmatched speed and quality.

HDR mapping
The fully automatic HDR mapping function permits to preserve realistic image details and color appearance within the scan data captured with a Laser Scanner Focus3D HDR even in challenging lighting situations.

Target-less registration with loop closing
Target-less scan placement by top-view-based registration or cloud-to-cloud registration methods. The placement with loop closing permits to minimize registration errors.

Autodesk® ReCap™ Format
Individual scans and whole scan projects can now be exported into Autodesk ReCap Format.

SCENE WebShare Cloud integration
Creates all SCENE WebShare Cloud data and publishes it directly to the internet for secure sharing with different project partners.

Plug-Ins for extended functionality
The unique plug-in interface lets the user extend the SCENE´s functionality by installing additional apps. All available apps are available on the FARO 3D App Center.

ASTM E57 industry standard
Through this manufacturer-independent binary data exchange format users may import and export scanning data regardless of the specific product used to capture it.
